Susan K

Susan met John through a dual sport riding acquaintance and then met Josh through him. She came to the team after accidentally mentioning that riding the Baja 1000 had been a secret dream of hers.  Like the rest of Project Baja, she has a random assortment  of potentially useful skills.

Susan is an EMT at a local hospital, speaks Spanish and has a background in project management and non-profit fundraising.  She has held a stint as a welder and does fine metal work as time allows.  That is, when she is not consumed by projects.  Susan is passionate about supporting under-served populations.  She has volunteered at a clinic in Mexico, and is currently working to increase awareness regarding health and sanitation in Haiti and to raise funds for a hospital north of Port-au-Prince.  Susan enjoys most anything outdoors and is plotting a team surf trip after the race.

She makes a practice of showing up for shop nights in her date clothes and considers herself the best darn parts cleaner around.
