With all the excitement about building a race car you sometimes forget about all the little stuff. We’ve been very busy with the rust repair on this car. Even though the car is pretty solid it still needs a lot of little things fixed to make sure it doesn’t crumple when it feels the stress of Baja. So the team is split up. some are tackling the front suspension, some are tackling the body and others are tackling the pan.
Unfortunately rust repair doesn’t really look like a whole lot of progress, but I can assure you that we have been pushing forward on making this thing solid! In the next couple weeks the car will be a solid vehicle again. It will be completely bondo free and all the rust will be dealt with. Currently we are about 60% done.
In addition to the Rust Repair we are planning. Yes, there are a lot of decisions to make. Cage design, seats, spare tire placement. Fuel tank placement. We are working through the decisions and now that we are getting more info we will be contacting some of the other class 11 teams that have been reaching out to us. We are glad to be part of a racing community that is so willing to help!
Thanks for following along!
How’d you get the doors and hood to hang way up there on the wall?
Hey Jim,
I love the Toggler! Look it up the greatest way to hang things in drywall. Seriously though , just some hooks and some 2×4’s mounted up there to hold everything nice and solid. We definitely don’t need that stuff cluttering up our work space!
