We have been very fortunate with our entry into Baja racing. The community has been just incredible and we could not be happier with the people who have come out and offered us a helping hand. From the beginning Class 11 teams have contacted us and offered their support. The Desert Dingos specifically have been so helpful with all types of information from car building to logistics planning and more. Locally we have been fortunate to have Yves Braun. Yves contacted us and has given us parts, spares and information as well! We got a chance to really check out some of the Rigid Lighting that he has on his Jeep Speed setup.

To add to this we have recently received some new parts from Nectar Labs. We were contacted by Trent when we first started working on this project and he told us about all of the parts that he makes. Hook and Rod stops, Gusset kits, Bushings and more. We are pretty excited to have access to all of this and Trent was very forthcoming with information. Our first box of parts arrived just the other day and we are busy getting things all together!

This week we started putting it all together. After a bit of figuring we started tacking things up. Evan has been telling us how much he has been learning and we put him in charge of the final fitment of the gusset kit for the rear swingarms. He did a great job! They are all fit perfectly and now they are tacked in place.

We didn’t let him weld this part however, he has been practicing welding however and is pretty good! Matt Wilson tacked up the kit and we will do final welding next week. Man this stuff is just perfect, it fits so nicely and is going to add a lot of strength to the car.

The front beam is getting worked on as well. There are a few rust holes in there that we are patching up and welding up. Once all the final welding is done that thing will get reassembled with all the new bushings as well.

We are hoping to have this thing sitting on its own tires, under its own weight in the next few weeks! I can’t wait to see it with it’s off road stance. It’s these little milestones that mean so much!
